3 Vintage Chistmas Card Set

I came across these 3 vintage christmas images on pinterest and I just knew I wanted to turn them into a set of 3 vintage christmas cards.  As far as I can tell, they originally came from JanetK Design. Unfortunately that website is now no longer up and running, but I was able to save a decent copy of each.

And I found matching tags as well.

If you would like to use these images you can find them
on my "Vintage Christmas" pinterest page.

Some close-ups...

I used stampendous frantage on all the snowflakes

The gold holly I found in a local 2nd hand shop, Bargain!
and the poinsettia I cut on my cameo.

And it seems I have finally mastered the art of tying a bow thanks to this you tube video.

Thanks for stopping by, feel free to leave a comment and a link to your blog so I can have a sticky at you fab creations.

Exploring

Exploring,
my entry for the sketchabilities #110 challenge and the color room #166

The Sketchabilities sketch I turned sideways

and the color room, I loved all the colors and the flowery feel it has.

Heres my entry

The "junkmail" that was part of "the color room" entry is the two hearts at the top of the photo, a heart under the bottom butterfly and the photo is also mounted onto the same piece.  It was a piece of artwork that my daughter brought home from kinder, normally I would just hold onto the for a while then throw it out,  but the colors suited perfectly and it appeared to be the cover of a journal type of book so I was able to thread some ribbon through the holes.

This flower is hand sewn.

This rose and leaf were cut on my cameo, as well as the butterfly bellow, which was very challenging as it has such fine detail.

The vine I made out of sculpey clay a while back and I just rubbed over some green chalk ink.

Thankyou for checking out my LO today.

It would be great if you could follow my blog if you find my work interesting.

Cherish

"Scrap friends" colour and sketch challenge

Scrap friends Colour and Sketch challenges are awesome this month.  I loved creating this LO.

The colour challenge look like this:

And the sketch challenge looked like this:

And heres my LO based on these beautiful boards.

I did flip the sketch board sideways.
I started with a pp that wasn't very interesting, coated with gesso and rolled with brayer, dried.
Stencilled the hearts with modelling paste, stencilled the black circles and yellow stars with distress ink.  sprayed with glimmer mist and created the runs.  Went back over some hearts with modelling paste again to make the stand out a bit more, outlined the stars and hearts. put on some rubons, cut the strips, punched the edges, put some plaster tape randomly on the page and sprinkled with silver embossing pwd. Also put glue in the punched areas on the strips and embossed them with silver.
the butterflies are cut on my cameo, sprayed with glimmer mist and glittered. Then added the home made flower, feathers and chippie from my stash.

"ROSE" Lindys stamp gang January color challenge

Wow how beautiful are these colors in the Lindy's stamp gang "January color challenge".
They remind me of a frosty winter morning.

Here's my creation based on the color board.

I created the background by using a brick stencil and modelling paste.  Once dry I gave the whole lot a coat with white gesso.  After it had dried for a couple of hours I sprayed, and sprayed and sprayed.
The colors used are:

Once they had dried I went back over the bricks and highlighted some edges with white puff paint.  I then went back over some of the puff paint with the sprays using a paint brush dipped in the bottle to get a really concentrated look.  I also coated the "prima" butterfly with the Buccaneer Bay Blue, you can see the gorgeous blue shimmer shining through.

I cut a heap of different paper and then distressed the edges, highlighted with walnut stain and sewed the edges.  I then stacked them on top of each other, twisting and turning, adding lace, material and cheeese cloth.
I wanted the stack to like the book in the photo.

I created all the flowers by hand, they were cut on the silhouette cameo, as well as the twigs and branches.
The flowers were also randomly coated with puff paint and glitter.

You can see in this photo the concentrated spray.

This is the photo that I used found on pinterest.

Thanks for looking.  :D

"Smile" Scrap around the world Janaury Challenge

This scrap around the world mood board is gorgeous, loving all the soft pinks, blues and turquoise.

For this challenge I used a photo of my DD when she was 2. In the original photo her face is so grubby, which is normal, but as a black and white you can't notice as much.

The base is white card stock, coated with gesso, sprayed lightly with glimmer mist - black cherry and dylusions - vibrant turquoise and then blended again with gesso and a sponge brush.
Over the top I used a prima circle lattice stencil.
The outer border is card stock with "clear scraps" - dragonfly 6x6 stencil, and then lightly fingerpainted with gesso to tone it down a little.
The middle is cardstock cut on my silhouette cameo with the nested frames shapes, I then pearled the outside edge with liquid pearls - opal white.

The lace, raffia, lettering is from my stash.  The pearl strips I made with sculpey clay using a kaisercraft stamp, and then painting with white gesso and lightly highlighting with distress ink, before gluing on the pearls.

The butterflies are Kaisercraft stamps used with ink pads, versa magic perfect plumeria and turqouise gem.

The flowers were cut on the cameo, files are: 3d lori whitlock roseFlowers 4 from birds cards, the pink flowers are from another file I made based on "cherry lynn cuties 4 and the white roses are from my stash that I made a while ago.

Looking forward to seeing lots more entries for the mood board, its so soft and dreamy.
Till next time, chow!!
